Genevieve Croker | Executive Director
Genevieve Croker comes to Rebuilding Together with a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management and nearly 20 years experience, domestically and internationally, with the nuts and bolts of helping organizations to thrive.
While her career started with administering scholarship programs, she has always gravitated toward positions that allow her to interact closely with the people she serves.
After six+ years as Director of Operations and Development for a small nonprofit in rural Guatemala that built classrooms and homes out of waste materials, she returned to the U.S. and fell in love with the Eastern Shore. Rebuilding Together allows her to combine her passion for helping people and developing efficient procedures into programs that make a tangible difference in her community.

Rita Gillis | Operations Manager
Rita is a Doctoral level Speech-Language Pathologist who has worked in a variety of healthcare and academic settings, including as a Director in rehabilitation services at a large academic medical center in Eastern North Carolina. In the latter years of her career, she assisted departments to improve clinical outcomes and achieve performance metrics by analyzing strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
Rita moved to Chestertown in 2022 to be closer to family. She joined Rebuilding in 2023 as a volunteer and became staff in 2026. She enjoys gardening and DIY projects. In her professional career in rehabilitation, she has worked with numerous individuals with disabilities and is well aware of the importance of accessibility in and outside of the home and being able to live in a safe environment.

Cory Palmer | Community Service Coordinator
Cory Palmer is a native of Utah and comes to Rebuilding Together with a Masters in Scenic Design for Theatre. She has 9 years of experience as a technical director and teacher at the college level and spent 10 years freelancing from Chicago to Philadelphia. She is also a certified kitchen and bath designer, a finish carpenter, a mural artist, a pharmacy technician, and various other things.
This Jill-of-All-Trades wanted to do something meaningful with her skills that helps the people in her new community. Rebuilding Together combines her love of teaching with her varied skill set. She can also be seen at Cricket’s Pet Supply in Rock Hall, which she owns with her wife and their dog, Cricket!
